A little more information will be helpful.

When you say cloudy, is it white or green cloudy? Have you tested your water? What are the readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrates? Have you recently changed water and how much? Have you cleaned your filters recently? Where is your tank located in relation to windows and doors that allow sunlight?

I know that sounds like the third degree, but that info is needed in order to try and help you. Please post the info.

White Cloudy is normally Bacteria. I had the same problem not too long ago. It was so bad I couldn't see the back of the tank.

The only solution I know of ( and the one that cured my problem) is time, patience and water changes. It took me 6 months with water changes 3 times a week to get my water clear.

Keep checking the Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. If one is just a little high it would be a sign of a bacteria spike. Also, do not do anything with the filter, it sounds like it needs to build up bacteria.

Above all, keep doing water cvhanges and HAVE PATIENCE!
