I bought a 25 gal at petsmart for 29.99 with out a light, and got the light seperately for 19.99. (Although I got lucky, the lady at the register forgot to charge me for the light! Most tanks come as a set there, so maybe she just didn't know!) SSHHH!!!

OH!!! And if you have the right conections... I got a 75 Gal. tank with a solid wood stand and double lights, as well as a hang in filter and 2 sets of undergravel filters for free from a friend! Hubby helped him with yard work for a trade... See! Gota love men!!

You can get a brand new "tank" for $99.99. That's the cheapest brand new tank I have found around. If you can, you might be able to find a tank at Wal-mart for $149.95. But good luck from Chuck!

Okay I have 55 gallon as well I paid a total of 500 bucks.I got the tank and light combo 99.99 then an emperor 400 the a 300 watt heater,water contioning,50 pouns of gravel,
an air pump and airline tubing a powerhead 802 from hagen,48''light bulb and that was about the powerhead was free.all this was like 300 bucks which is alot now image it with stand and canopy luckily I already had a
stand.Try to get the tank a little bit wider than 12' and not so tall.good luck.

Sounds like you got a nice setup for it, you know after spending all that money you'd expect you get cleaning service for it also!

Yea and make a stand...It doesn't have to be pretty. Remember you can put a table cloth of some sort, but a darker color, and have it hang down. Underneath it you can stuff all your "accessories" underneath it and hidden from view. And if you can't do that, try to sweet talk someone into making one for you. All you need is a tape measurer, 2X4, 4X4 and some screws. Unless you got the money to spend$$$

Yep, I have one made out of 2by4's works great, even stronger than the bought version out of particle board....

Exactly. I used 2x4 as well with angle iron to support the joints better. You can finish it off w/ sheets of pine or whatever your flavor of wood is from home depot or lowes etc...

Well for everything in my tank including plants and rocks, a total of around three 20 for top of the line filters and what not, so i think i did allright
