The tubes I was referring to are their reproductive tubes. The "ovipositor" for the female, basically it's right next to the anus. It is a little tube that during spawning comes out. The female's is larger/broader and lays the eggs and the male's is smaller and passes the sperm. Raising the temperature slowly to about 86F may induce the tubes to drop.
