What are they?

Postby C4 on Tue Aug 21, 2001 1:47 pm

I bought a two fish at the lfs. The worker called them african reed cichlids. They two I purchased turned out to be a breeding pair. Does anyone have any pictures of various "african reeds". because Id like to know the technical name and if there are variations what type they are. please post any pics under here.

Do they look kind of like needlefish without the long beak? look up Erpetoichthys calabaricus, supposedly feed at night on worms and insects, in brackish water(river mouth etc...) gets to 80 or 90cm i think

Those are not what I have. They are about 4 inches long the male has horizantal bright blue stripes with yellow outline around the stripes. The female has yellow horizantal striping. Ill try to take a good picture and post it. Technical Question: How do you post a picture here?
