Now would a wealthy fish be a fat fish like an oscar or an expensive fish like a koi or an arowana or just a spoilt fish?

By the way, I think koi are boring and ugly Image but on the other hand I've only seen them in the stores, never had one, anyone had 'experience' with them?

Yes koi care would be helpful. I think koi are beautiful, some of them are SHINY, and they aren't any messier than oscars.

What kind of fish are Koi? what family etc...the ones I've seen in petco I thought were ugly but then I also think those deformed goldfish are real ugly too and should be put out of their misery while some people spend big bucks on them...

Never been a real koi fan. Think its because I never really wanted to have a pond in my back yard. Mabey when I get my home I will consider it.

Yep, I bet that's the reason I don't dig them. I really can't see them as an "aquarium" fish. I think they really do belong in ponds as you mentioned...maybe when I have my own multi-million dollar house on couple thousand acres with a river running through it, and a creek etc.. Image

Cymprinid is the correct term for the family which koi belong to. I don't like deformed goldfish either. Image

Hahahaha! Hey Joe remember me when you make your first million. I will gladly come dig you a pond on your land and stick some retarded gold fish in there..or was it deformed. Oh well same difference. Goldfish are for food!

Well, I would agree with you there. I mean I've seen some of those poor gold fish with triple tails, eyes that are just about to pop and fall out and who can barely swim the length of the aquarium. I don't even think my oscars would try to eat them, one look and they'd freak out yelling the MARTIANS have Come!

To me a Koi in an overpriced, overgrown goldfish! Have you ever looked at the price tags on those things? They are selling ones in PetSmart for close to $90!! And one that size can't live that long...I mean if I got a baby one and raised it to that size, I would feel attatched, but not to something that may make it what a year? Especially if a neighborhood cat or a big bird or something got into the "pond". We've got lots of water birds around here, including diving ducks.

I saw a couple feeder fish that the petsmart had saved and raised from their first batch of fish, they were like 4 yrs old now, and they were much prettier than the Koi. I would just get feeders and let them grow. If one dies, they are 12 cents to replace, not $90.
