That pH isn't a serious problem for most fish you'd be putting in there, as long as you introduce them properly. As you're floating the bag with the new fish, every few minutes add a bit of your aquarium water to the water in the fish's bag. this helps avoid pH shock issues as they're introduced. As Fuzzy says, in most cases a stable pH is much more important than an absolute number. Just curious -- how big is your tank for those convicts, and what else are you thinking about adding?
