up and running at last!!!

A big hello to everyone as ive been away for some time(due to having no p.c at home.)

Well finally my convert to saltwater has taken place and ive spent the past six months devoting all my time and money on research and new equipment for my beloved mini reef.

I started out the later part of last year with my new tank and now my system consists of 40g tank(u.k) 3x t8 v.h.o lighting tubes, deltec mc500 protein skimmer, and a fluval 404 external canister, and roughly 25kilo's of fiji live rock.

my livestock so far is 1 copperband butterfly fish.2 different species of mushroom polyps and a coral banded shrimp(boxing shrimp)

The only trouble ive had is aptasia enemone hitchiking into my tank on the live rock(reason for getting copperband)

The copperband butterfly has dealt with all the small aptasia that has budded off the larger ones, but im still left with 5 bigger enemones, this of course is a worry because of my precious mushroom polyps.

would be interested to hear of anyone else's experience with aptasia.(im aware of different methods to rid of it. but it would mean sacrificing my live rock or useing kalkwasser injection.) both of which i dont want to do.

thanks for reading.....jay..:)

Just take your calc solution, and mix up a super strong batch. Then take a sergical needle and inject it into the anenome, it will melt within hours.

Good Luck
