tilapia gender question?

is anyone here knows how to distinguish gender of tilapias im tryin to get myself a pair coz i know they fight if u put same gender into same tank!

You can get a decient GUESS by compairing finnage.
Males usually have pointed fin tips.
Female usually have rounded fin tips.
Usually at the size found in fish stores - males are a little bigger too.
But just like with alot of other cichlids - those methodes are not a guarantee!
Venting works but I never seen a store alow a customer to vent smaller fish.
Just a heads up , - T.buttakoferi - different sexes doesn't mean they won't fight either.
