It is tough to not know what to do for a fish when they get hurt.. Most times U can treat with melafix and that takes care of most scapes and missing scales to help them heal faster and keep bacterial fungus probs away.. Once they do go belly up, they will die.. I keep Melafix and Primafix on hand and an empty tank, 10 gal for emergencies.. U just never know when one gets into a battle and comes out the loser. I have some male convicts and one is trying to take out all the other males. ONE did die, IF He keeps it up, I wil have to get him out OR use a divider to make sure my strain of shredded tailed convicts survive. I only have the one male left.
