I have a blue acara and this morning noticed he is not using one fin. He seems to have it clamped to his body. Other one is fanning about. Other fins do not seem as errect and tail is slightly clamped. He seems to be moving about OK. He is with another blue acara and a small convict. Does anyone know what this is and what to treat with if any?
Help most appreciated as he is my favourite fish.

Clamped fin's with the plural is a sign of many types of problems.
Since your's only has one clamped fin, I suspect injury is the cause, not a water quality issue, (also your other fish are not showing signs) or disease. Depending upon how sever the injury is, and the why's of the injury, a few days to recover in hospital tank, might not be a bad idea.

Thankyou for your reply, I had wondered about injury as I had put the convict in with them as he had been bullying the smaller ones. Being a quarter of the size I thought the Acaras would put him in his place. He doesn't seem to have any fear of them at all and after a couple of weeks is cruising the tank, so maybe he caused an injury overnight. I'll remove him as soon as I get home from work. On closer inspection the fin did look a little damaged so I have put in some Triple Sulph to help the healing and prevent any bacterial infection. I'm a little wary of hospital tanks as the first and only time I used one, I nursed the fish back to health, all fins back nicely, just to have it aniliated as soon as it was put back in the main tank of Africans!!!!
Thankyou again for your advice

Your Welcome, and just a side note on Convicts....they are a very aggressive little fish, and quite capable of beating up much larger fish.
