a Aulonocara nyassae (Peacock)?
The dude at the LFS told me they go together fine, but I wanted to make sure as they come from different Lake Malawi and the Frontosa comes from Lake Tanganyika.

Yea, I've seen these 2 stuck together in a busy community tank before, with a few other odd ball cichlids, actually, you shouldn't really have a problem, I don't think. What size tank are you putting them in? And set up? Establishing a good rock wall or cave type, like seen in breeding tanks.

A thanks guys for your responses. Hmmm...oscar2001, $195.00? Wow, man that's nasty prices. Must be for those F0 wild caught ones.
I Burundi frontosas was supposed to be $23.99 but I know the guy at this LFS, we used to work together at this grocery store many years ago. I paid $19.95, man his cost is only $7.99. I know because he told me before that the prices in the shop are 3 times the cost. It covers the unreal shipping cost for Hawaii I guess.
I emailed this shop in Texas that sells fronts. The cost is about $15 but the shipping charge is $87, no joke! I almost choked! Plus I needed a Permit to buy them because Hawaii has some mickey mouse Agriculture laws.

Ya I live in Texas now, relocated from Florida. I paid $15 for my 6 stripe Frontosa in Florida. There is like 2 breeders here in Texas I believe, like 4-5 hours away I think. I was going to be the 3rd, but from my investigation it would be more of a hobby then a business deal. S/H to Hawaii and Australlia where Oscar 2001 is located (if I remember correctly)are outragous. To ship from Florida to Texas which is 4 states away southwest airlines wants $31 for 24lbs I believe. I know like Delta is some $72 and FedEX does not ship live anything, I think airborne express is the same way.
Here in Texas the same size Front I got in Florida for $15 is $30 for 1.5" - 2" Its crazy the price differences in the same fish all over. You might want to look into what is called the "poor man's Front." I forgot the tech. name for it sorry. But they are literally half the price of a "true" Front. Look identical too. If you really don't know your fish, you never know it wasn't a "true" Front.
I think a F0 over there in Australlia would be double the price quoted. You can buy pairs here of F1 for around $200 I think F0 pairs are around $350. Now I am not sure but Oscar2001 did you convert your $ to american $ or is it the same over there? Not sure..

P.S. Some LFS keep their Fronts with Oscars. They seem to do fine durring their younger years.

Yeah, I got my three fronts living with two Golden Severums, six Angelfish and five clown loaches. I know I not suppose to mix african and central america cichlids but so far they live in harmony. I guess it will be okay until they get bigger.
