Temper Tantrum and damage...

Postby Repunz on Fri Oct 06, 2000 11:21 pm

I have one more question tonight....When we took Jack out of his tank to scrub it, he thrahed about a lot. He went ballistic is more appropriate...Anyhow, on his fin under his belly (you know the pointy ones towards the front, I don't know the name) He has what looks like a bone sticking out...Like the skin was torn away from there. Would this hurt him and will it heal? His lost scales usually take about a week at most to heal.

Oh, he also has these bruises everywhere from flipping out and trying to jump out of the tank...he dove into the gravel, slammed himself off of the rocks. He was not a happy camper... They should definately heal though right? He seems happy, but restless now. (I changed the placement of the decorations in there, he's still getting used to them again)

Temper Tantrum and damage...

Humph. I read a post a while back on this site saying you should try to cover your O's head with a darker type cloth instead of using the net. It settles them down a bit b/c of the darkness. Also they can't see whats going on and its less traumatic on the fish. Next time try that if you have to take the fish out of the tank at all. Image
