Stripping Tank

Postby Indy0529 on Sun Mar 09, 2008 6:38 am

I am thinking about changing the look of my tank; new gravel, rocks, ornaments etc. I will have to put my fish in a large tote while I am doing this and put them right back into the tank when I'm done. I have a 120 gal tank and all my fish are big fish. I will save and reuse as much of the old water as possible, but will probably have at least 50% new water. I will not clean the filters.

Is there anything I should do or watch out for while I'm doing this?

Just use part of the regular old water in the temporary holding tank and keep temp similar though make sure they get proper oxygenation...(the warmer the water the less oxygen it can hold...)
