Hi...we had our breeding pair together for about a month. They took their time, but it happend. We got frye. We are on our second bunch of babies. Just let them do their thing. Make sure you have a cave of some sort in your tank, that's what they will use for their eggs. If they dont have any place they feel safe they will hold off breeding. (at least that is what I was told) Once you have frye, watch the mom and dad closely. They were awsome the first bunch...taking turns caring for the young. This time around the dad was mean and nasty to the mom. We had to move him out of the tank. He didnt bother the frye, just her. Once the frye are big enough, we will move him back with her. Good luck, and dont worry, it will happen, and when it does, you'll wish it stopped! they breed like rabbits!!!!
