size of tank?

how do i work out how many gallons my tanks are? i have a tank that is 4x1.5x1.5 foot and 1.5x.75x.75 foot

Hi Denver,

To do the conversion you need to know "7.48" basically 1 cubic foot is 7.48 gallons. So your tank that is 4feet by 1.5feet by 1.5 feet would be around 67gallons....your other tank 1.5feet by .75foot by .75foot would only be about 6 gallons....O YEA these calculations are for the US gallon, for the UK you would use 6.22 instead of 7.48 so your FIRST tank listed would be 55 GALLONS and the second tank only 5 GALLONS....

thanks joe
my convicts just had babies and they had them in a large sea shell. when i swapped them into the smaller tank, i put the shell in there too. should i of done that? an d what should i feed the fry. i bought some liquid fry food stuff would that work?

Hi Denver,

Sure no problem putting the shell in there. You can also feed the fry live or frozen baby brine shrimp or flake food(break into small pieces). They'll also nibble on left-overs from the parent convicts etc...
