My little Ciara is gone!!!! She died yesterday...... I am soo sad.. What is life with out my Ciara???:( Montie is all alone in his tank now... No one to play with. I hate hole-in-the-head disease sooo much. My poor little baby. She was only 10 1/2 inches long! Well that is big but still! She was just a year old! Not even near the age of death for an oscar.... I am upset and was crying for two hours yesterday. Pitiful huh? Oh well I miss my fishy! If you excuse me I need to go bury my fishy now........

Sorry to hear that, Claire. It's tough to lose a friend.

I'm also very sorry to here about your Oscar. Are you sure it was HITH? I've never heard of it coming on so fast and being so deadly. I'm not trying to stir anything up I'm just curious.

On another note...It's nice to see you back on the forum!:D

Hi Cichlid Queen, I feel like we all watched Ciara grow up, with all of your wonderful posts and questions and excitement about Ciara and Monty over the past year. When Oscars die, I cry too and I'm a 52 year old geezer. We're sorry to hear the news. So long, Ciara!:bye:

sorry to hear about ciara, i cried too when i lost my second o. and i had only had him about three days. you get attached really fast. i hope montie dosen't get to loney, maybe you'll come across some that needs a good home for their oscar. best of luck

Sorry to hear Ciara is gone.

Well the HITH had gotten to the point where it was effecting her eating.... In the last few days she would not eat and I grew ever more upset as I watched her health decline. I did water changes every other day trying to get the water better so that the HITH would get better or even go away. I guess my effort was futile as she grew more sickly. I couldn't even stand to look at her in the end... I guess I was too upset with my self for allowing her to get that way.
I wanted to buy a nice big 125 gallon. But the problem was I did not have the space to put such a big tank!

hey don't blame her death on yourself, sometimes it is nature's way of makeing room for something even more wonderful to come in and brighten up your day. my grannie always use to say when ever one dies a new one is born. don't get too down in the dumps, something better is one its way to your heart right now.

I can't buy a friend for Montie because the tank is only big enough for him and only him. It is a 60 gallon may I mind you and I really am hoping he does not get to upset over poor Ciara being gone.

well did you ever think about smaller fish that can go with oscars like gouramies or glass fish? just a thought? i know how it is you lose one and you don't want another........they aren't pets after awhile they are like childern. you worry even when they get bangged up from fighting with each other. mourning is hard but you will aways have her in your thoughts and you will see her again someday.

Sorry to hear about your O ... I havent been doing this very long and am already attached to mine.

Montie would eat any other fish I got as a friend for him probably. He is alot less aggressive now that he is the only fish in there.
