I am setting up a 75 gallon tank, that I plan on being fish only at least for a while. I am initially trying to get my filtration equipment that will allow me to move into more sensitive areas after I get my feet wet. Being my first tank I though I would run it through here.
First of all, I plan on using a wet/dry filter with prefilter with my undrilled tank(glass). I'm not planning on using carbon, but welcome any advice on additional filter media. My undertank setup will include the filter system rated for a 150 gal. tank, Seaclone skimmer for a 150 gal. and a 300W heater. I am trying to have a clean tank with the only intank equipment being a power head or two for improved water movement.
For tank bottom covering I plan on using crushed shell and about 50lbs. of live rock to start the tank. After it gets stable, maybe one or two damsels as I have seen and read they are good for breakins. I plan on running with this basic setup for a few months before expanding it.
Does anyone see any holes or have any suggestions? I may have left out a few things, but in the interest of not writing a book I try to be brief.
