Second Floor Aquariums

Postby Vaulen on Mon Jun 06, 2005 7:29 pm

I have seen many other forums concerning aquariums on the second floor of apartment complexes, houses, etc. I thought I'd just post this for anybody visiting this great forum.

I am going to get a 55 gallon aquarium and the only place that I can put it is upstairs. Will my second floor hold the 550+ lb. aquarium?

With no problem at all. Most people overthink things a bit too much. Youd never think twice about putting a big entertainm, ent center in with a nice big tv,stereo and speakers, etc Weighing in well over 4-500 lbs.And a 55g can be put anywhere. If paranoid put it on a load bearing wall. But like i said about entertainment centers mine weigh 250-300lbs empty6x6' , and it is loaded with 2-300cds,100+dvd's,stereo,speakers,Xbox , ps2, Game cube,ps1,etc. Games, vhs tapes dvd player cable box,and almost forgot the big TV. I figure that weigh over 1000lbs.
