salt, worms

My first fish question involves worms I noticed in my tank a while ago. I was told here that they're harmless roundworms, and I believe that. However, some of them leave the gravel and go floating around and I usually see a couple crawling around on my fish (I have an oscar, green terror, and pleco). My Oscar has a small wound from minor scuffles with the g.t., and I see one of the worms on the wound. I can understand that it might see that as a free meal, but do you think it would burrow into the skin like a parasitic worm? If this is a problem, then what can I do about it? Or is it meerly an annoyance to my fish? Other than that my fish both appear very healthy and are growing quickly.

Which brings me to my next question about salt in the aquarium. I hear many people on websites say that putting non-iodized salt in their aquariums is just all that and a bag of chips. How it's excellent as preventive medicine, and helps wounds heal. Is it something I should consider using? And would it possibly get rid of the worms? If so, what dosage should I use? I think I read something like 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons...
