rock for cichlid tank

went camping this past weekend and found some really cool looking fossils and "geodes"...can I use them in a cichlid tank after boiling them to get rid of any bacteria or bugs?....I think they might contain limestone

You will need to not only boil the rock, but let it sit in a bucket for couple of days to make sure it doesn't change the water color or PH. Limestone is a buffer. Once you add limestone of any type you will no longer be able to lower your PH. Limestone will raise your tank to a HIGE PH instantly. You will then need to get a water pillow, RO water etc; to lower it. Which is an oxymoron for obvious reasons. I would not suggest you add any limestone to your tank.
