In your circumstances, probably not, except through venting or actually observing mating. Those methods are covered in our FAQs section.

Oscars can be sexed visually only if you are certain they have grown up under nearly identical circumstances. The same food, the same disease history, age, etc. If that is the case, then males will have a tendency to be a bit larger, more colorful, have longer fins, have a more defined point at the tip of the 2nd dorsal fin, and may have a small nuchal hump. But, if you do not know the history of your Oscars, these signs are not reliable. A well fed, lovingly cared for female will be larger, have longer fins, etc. than a male that has been mistreated. A female fed processed food will be larger and healthier than a male brought up on feeder goldfish. A male that has had to fight HITH will be smaller. You get the picture. So, in your circumstance, any visual clues might be misleading. If they mate, you'll know who's who; and you also can tell by observing vents, which is described in the forum's FAQs.
