Hi Frank, WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!

The fish in the picture is commonly sold as a Green Terror, but is actually a close cousin of the real GT. Green Terrors are Aquidens Rivulatus and have generally not been available to the hobby for almost 30 years, except very rarely. The fish pictured that you bought is Aquidens sp. Goldsaum, and the correct common name is Gold Seam Cichlid or Goldsaum Cichlid. They have been sold as "Green Terrors" for some time now.

The only place I know of that is selling the original Green Terror is http://www.tangledupincichlids.com and they do have pictures. You'll see that the two species are very similar in appearance.

A very interesting web page to look at the Aequidens species is http://www.lem.net/alf/aeq.htm, which is a listing with some discussion, with pictures, of many of the South American species closely related to the Green Terror. Alf Stalsberg is one of the foremost authorities in our hobby.

Again, welcome to the forum!
