well, my 6" red devil cichlid (that was given to me by a friend cuz he was ill kept in a 20g with 6 other cichlids ) that was kept in a community tank where she's the only one of her kind, decided to have eggs.. i moved her to a 30g tank(setup was nice and proper) with her eggs and was still thinking... how can she have fry without a hubby? and there. my question, will her frys hatch?

omy really? hmm... well then, can anyone disprove the rumor i heard that there is a chance of it hatching cuz theres a chance an egg is hermaphroditic? i for one dont believe it so.

Guaranteed they won't hatch if not fertiled. My solo female lays eggs about once a month and nothing - red devils aren't asexual.

When most people says an eggs is or can be hermaphroditic - they're refering - eggs have the abilty to become either sex. Many people belive final sex isn't determined until a few days after hatching.
