Power head

Postby Owen on Thu Mar 17, 2005 11:13 pm

Hey Folks. Is there anyone who can help me with a powerhead question? I recenty purchased a Aquaclear 50 power head (formally known as a Aquaclaar 402. I have a 75 gal. tank , and I am sure I will have a problem mounting it on the rim. The instruction say it is a sealed unit, and I think I need to mount it under the rim with the suction cups.. But this will put the unit compleatly underwater. Does this work>? Is this safe. What little hair I have looks really bad sticking strait out:D v

Hey owen

I wouldn't put it underwater, not unless u want curly hair!!
It should mount on the tank back glass, sometimes you have to cut holes in canopies to do this. I am not sure what type you have, but the powerhead is designed to mount on the top rim of the glass.

Any other questions post them, I'll try and help you out. A pic of your canopy, ect might help too.

Power head

Hi Owen..
I just came across this looking for info and I wanted to tell you that I have a Powerhead 402 in my 46gln. I have it hanging into the tank from a clip in the back that caused me to have to cut a little nitch outta the plastic in the back. I can't use suction cups for anything in the tank as my fish love to move crap around.
Good Luck.
Hope this helps.
