Stealth Tubing

Postby mole on Sun Oct 02, 2005 12:01 pm

When I purchased my 10gal setup I also purchased an air stone. The stone works fine, but my problem is this tubing! The packaging even stated it to be "Stealth Tubing" but it is just a hideous black tube floating in the middle of my tank. My air stone is set up in the centre of my tank, and that tubing just looks awful. How is this supposed to be stealth? Am I missing something?

what!?

Also, I will post a picture of my modest setup when I can find some batteries for my digital camera.

Stealth Tubing

Tell me when you do, I have never heard of "stealth tubing" sounds like a gimmic to me. I alwasy used clear tubing, I would silicon it to the back of the tank, in a corner, (a couple of spots of silicon will hold the tube) then ran it under the gravel to where I would have an airstone/sunkenboat/treasure chest/ etc.

I will definately give that a try. I was about to take a picture of my setup and post it here, but I can't get my camera to work! Once I figure out what is wrong with it there will be a photo or two.

Thanks again for all the help.

Yeah, sounds like a sales gimmick to me, too -- Probably would be better for the aquarium if the airstone was in one of the corners instead of in the middle, Mole, it would oxygenate the tank better. Then, the tube running down a corner would not be as unsightly.

ya i've seen the "stealth" tubing at petsmart and didn't get it, mabe if you had a black backround, but still run some clear tubing down the corner then under the gravel.

Go figure, I was hook, line, and sinkered into a gimmick. *sigh*

Oh well, I will just go to the pet store and get some more clear tubing, make my tank look a little nicer. Pick up a few more little fishies. :-D

Thanks for the help you guys!
