MY RED DEVIL IS BREATHING VERY FAST ALL THE TIME.HE IS IN A 15GALLON AQUARIUM.HE IS BEEN WITH ME FOR 3MONTHS AND HAS HAD NO SUCH PROBLEM.

yes.he was alright for quite some time until yesterday...

A 15 gal tank is not very big. how big is this RD?

You need to do a water change every 5 days.

Get a ruler and mark down from the top rim, 4", that is enough of a water change to help him in such a small tank.

HE needs lots of air, as in a Air-pump and air stones running along the back of the tank. One 6" should be enough..

You need to clean the filter Box weekly..

Any time you see him breathing hard, it is due to excess toxins in the water OR you dont' have any airstones in the tank..
Doing a water change on a weekly schedual, and an air stone should take care of these problems..

Untill you get a bigger tank (min 210 Litre/55g) Id strongly suggest dailey to at least every few days of a 10 to 15 % water change..This will help in the hopfully short term you have this fish in such a small tank
