Python syphon

_ Well i got some equipment with the used tank i got and one of the things is what seemed to be a gravel cleaner because it had a 2" plastic tube at the end of a 1/2" hose. but when i tried to use it it didn't work verry well, it did let me get a bunch of gunk out of the gravel but wasn't very good at sucking it all the way up the plastic tube.
_ I went online and looked at the parts to the python system that i've read quite a bit of praise about and found out that it requires you to attach it to a faucit or hose to get the required sucktion(sp) for it to work properly.
_ Is there any other way to get this gravel cleaner to work properly besides buying all the parts to attach it to a faucit?

If you have a drain lower then the bottom of the tank you don't need the faucet adapter - if the tank is close or even or higher then the drain you need the adaptor.

You WON'T get any Praise on a Python from Me.
My BEST Advice to you is "THROW IT AWAY" Now before it's too LATE:mad:
I got one Thought it would be better then Carrying Buckets, and Sucking Fish Chunks..
Guess again I'd rather Carry Buckets and Suck Fish Chunks, and I do...
Here's Why.

I've had it cause enough Back Pressure on My Pipes to Blow them Off Under My Sink, Fixed them, Called the Company they said don't turn on your Faucet past Half On, tried that, Next time Blew the Pipes off Underneath My House, Called them Back, Said it might be the Faucet Attachment Sent me a NEW One, tried it, This time was really interesting.

The Stupid thing Blew out the Rubber Washer Some How, it went down my Drain, Cloging it.
Sink over flows while Cleaning a 55 gallon tank, Did'nt know this, went to turn watyer off when done, Foud Sink OverFlowing, water running into my Livingroom, as well as down the Carpeted Hall, and into my Cooling/Heating Vents, Boy was this ever Fun to Clean Up.

After this I took it Out Back and Burn't it and Have'nt Looked Back, and this was Six Months Ago.

As my Dad always told Me the New ways aren't Always Better...
And in this instance I GUESS HE WAS RIGHT.

what!?
Interesting story.
There should be no way that could happen

If the pythons either filling or draining water pressure doesn't even change inside the pipes. The most pressure a python could make is the same amount thats present when a faucets on off.It doesn't add water to the inlet so even a bad fitting would be just like tuning a faucet off.

Unless you have horriable luck? With my poor luck and 100 year old pipes in my house so far so good (knock on wood)

Weirder things happen though.
