Salt & Freshwater tanks

hey I'm in the market for a new tank and was just wondering if there would be any problem with buying a tank that was set up for salt water and using it for fresh water asuming everything was rinsed out would the filters or substrate be usable?

No problems, but you won't need to use the protine skimmer on a freshwater setup.
As for your filtering, that will be dependant upon what type of fish you keep, and the tank size.

Salt & Freshwater tanks

I'm looking for about a 75 gallon tank for an Oscar, Jack Dempsy, and a Pl*co.
I'm asking because i'm looking for a used tank with as much equipment and everything as possible and a lot of the tanks I find that are the size I want were/are set up for salt water.
thanks for the info
