Super Glue

Postby xlioilx on Fri Jul 08, 2005 5:20 pm

Ok so I think I did something bad I had a broken pump and not thinking I repaired it with some super glue.
Its been some time now drying about a month or two, I'm wondering if its safe to use in my tank or not.
I used common 98cent Wal-Mart super glue. I also ran it in a tub of water for 24 hours any input would be great.

Super Glue

I'm surprised it still holds, I guess if warm water of a cichlid tank doesn't dissolve the glue it would be ok. (unless maybe we're talking pounds of glue! :D

Super Glue

:) I've used Super Glue on any number of my Fish Tanks over the years, Without any adverse affects.
I've never tried to use it to fix a Pump before but if it's still holding, then don't Worry about it, I've used it for fixing all Sorts of decorations in other Tanks, To hold the Plastic peices you cut out of the back of the Hood, that you later found out you should'nt have, etc.
Sit back Relax, and don't Worry about it Hurting your fish, But I would worry about getting another Pump, Cause the time will come When you won't be able to fix it, again with Super Glue, and then you'll be Sunk...
Most likely Late at Night or the Local Pet Shop will be Closed.
Enjoy the GREATEST Hobby in the World Fishkeeping...
