Help!!! Brace Broke

Postby Indy on Tue May 24, 2005 7:36 pm

The center brace on the top of my 55 gal tank broke. I am affraid the tank will split apart.

Is there some way to repair this or is this tank a goner?

Please respond quickly, I'm affraid I may have little fish's on the floor if I don't do something.

Help!!! Brace Broke

Hey Indy

I am wondering glass brace, or ???

If its glass, you can get a new peice and silicon it in place.
You should be able to clamp the tank together in the mean time,
there are grip clamps that will span the width of the tank. Check in a hardwarestore looking for woodworking tools.
Lower you water level in the tank a bit to lower the pressure on the walls. Hope this helps.

It's the plasctic bar that goes from the front to the back of the tank in the center, on top.

Not sure how to repair it (if I can). Super glue won't work.

I have the water level lowered and I moved the fish. I just really don't want to loose the tank.
