Has anyone bought fish online? If so, where is a good place?

I just can't imagine how the fish can survive a shipment like that and I wonder about adding diseasee to my tank with a fish I haven't seen first.

I have never bought fish via online, however I know of several ppl here on the forum who have. Stilllearning does both . Might ask him about it. I am sure he will know who to buy from, and who to avoid.

95%+ of all fish are shipped at some time or another,the ones in your local fish store are often shipped 3+ different times before you see them.

For example - wild fish (especially the common cheap stuff)
Fish go from - (1)collectors to - (2)export stations to - a (3)dealer in the U.S., most of the main dealers sell only to (4)wholesalers - wholesalers (maybe even another wholesaler from there) sell to pet stores.

Lots of shipping most people never even think about

Shipping isn't bad and usually does no harm to fish,it's just expensive OVERNIGHT is the only reliable way to ship fish.!

Done right - fish are packed in oxygen (or breather bags) inside an insulated box - clearly marked "live fish".

NO matter who you order from (even a local store),it's always best to quaranteen new fish.
