ich treatment

Postby oscarphish on Wed Mar 30, 2005 6:09 pm

i have a tank w/ an ich problem. i'm using rid-ich, and on the second day of treatment, and my question is: we have over 4o gallons of h2o. should i give the same dose of rid-ich every time? or reduce it, or the amount of h2o we are adding? thanks!

ich treatment

For most ich treatments, raise the tank temp up, to above 80 degree's. Ich can only be treated while its free swiming. Rasing the water temp will speed up the hatching rate. If you use carbon in your filters, you have to remove the carbon for the meds to work. I am not sure if you did so, but I figure its best to mention that in case you may not have known.

ich treatment

its been 3 days, and showing good results. i took out the carbon in the filters, have been doing 30% h2o changes, raised the temp to 80, and added rid-ich as instructed. it works great! the fish are doing better, and the visable ich is almost gone. today i can finally give them some food. i'm going to continue to treat even if the signs are gone.:)
