Bluish stripe

Looks like some sort of Zebra. These can be tough to pin a specific species on, but I will see what I can do later.

(Fuzzy) I think this one is a Melanochromis johanni . Notice the stripes run the length of the body, unlike the picture below. A better pic would help, but we all know how much cichlids love to pose for the camera.

Fuzzy

Ok just a guess, and with my guess's I am at about 35% acuracy.
Better than the weatherman though. I think it might be Pseudotropheus elongatus.

Deepseafisher

Deinetely elongatus. Good guess, fuzzy. I did some looking, and your all the way correct.

Unless its a psuedotropheus zebra. These zebra africans are absolute P.I.T.A.s to I.D. sometimes.

Hey, on second thought, you might post these to your photo gallery. Then we could comment on them directly. It would make it easier for everyone.

Definetly Exasperatus. Note the orange fins and blueish body.

Okay.
Like the boys said, yellow labs would probably be a good idea. I myself have 4. From what i understand (correct me if i'm wrong) yellow labs are probably the most less aggressive fish in a tank a africans. I am thinking you could put maybe 5 at the most in there.
Tell me if that helps.

There are a lot of fish that look like blue Johanni. It can be tough to tell with any type of zebra sort of fish.

ph of 8.2 seem's a little on the very basic side. I don't know much about african cichlid;s and this water condition may be best for them. let me know

Yeah, 8.2 is great for africans-they thrive in higher pH. 8.2 would be fine for most any cichlid. Its better to keep pH stable than it is to shoot for a target pH.

So this is what it comes down to, Fishinmyeye (by the way, have you got a real name?). Choose maybe 4 species that you like. (If you don't know the species, post the best picture you can get of them). You don't even necessarily have to stick with the ones you've already got. You are going to end up having to narrow the inhabitants of your tank to around 8 or 10 fish. Post the four you like, and we'll help you narrow it to 2 species from there.

one animal you could mix (only if you get a bigger tank) is an affrican clawed frog. i know people who have them in w/ affrican cichlids, and have no problems. these frogs never leave the water, and can be aggressive themselves. just make sure your cichlids are too big for the frog to eat, because fish is a huge part of their diet. they are very easy to keep, and require very little. if you do get one, make sure the tank is covered, because they are jumpers, which they can't live long out of water.:)

By the way, hows the tank going? Just kind of curious...

What all did you decide to keep?
