Eclipse catfish

Just bought a new catfish at petsmart. It is called an eclipse catfish. I haven't been able to find any info on this fish. I was wondering if this is the real name of this cat. The store said it would grow to 16" it is greenish tan and has a purple patch behind its gill. If you have any info on this cat it would be greatly appreciated

Hi......think we are gonna need a picture of this.i could'nt find any info either on that name.

If it does grow to 16" then you will need to be careful on tank size and tank mates.(but im sure you have considered that already.);)

good luck and keep us posted.:)

Sounds like another new name given to a sun catfish,if it is they grow up to about 18 inches.

try looking up Horabagrus brachysoma , sun catfish, golden redtail catfish , indian catfish, solar catfish and/or whitecollared catfish.

They look like this:
(not my picture - belongs to dolphin - found on google)
