I have never heard of it. Went to the link, which really didn't give me much more information on it. Flow rates are important, but so is the volume of the filter media. Not much information on the site, unless I was suposed to go somewhere else on it.

I don't really have enough information on the filter to give an opinion. Maybe someone else here has heard of them. Have you been comparing this one, agains a different brand?

I've never heard of this brand either, I'm going to scroll down and crosspost this into the newsgroups and check in over at cichlid-forums and see if anyone there has heard of this. I see you have a couple of recent posts in the newsgroups, Fuzzy, maybe you're already ahead of me there . . .:D

p.s. I'm not advertising cichlid-forums, I think we have a much higher quality discussion here at CichlidFISH; it's that they are quite a bit busier than us and someone there may have heard of this filter -- Mark:cool:

There's a guy that responded over at cichlid-forums that just got one and is setting it up, he says he'll have it running in three weeks and will report on it's quality, etc. Everyone in the newsgroups seems to be scratching their heads tho -- :D

jebao 918?

I did a little more research on the 'net and found a couple of other forums where this filter had been discussed. Conversations took place in 2002, so the company's been around at least that long. People that used the filter say it's bulletproof (One guy said "perfect"), so apparently there's no prob with quality. However, it was mentioned that the unit comes with no filter media at all to start you off with --

My concern would be support. With such an unknown/rare brand, even if it's high quality, when/if it breaks where would you send it? I'd stick with a more established brand where you can get it replaced or get parts etc., like Rena or Magnum or Eheim etc. etc.

I just got a response from him, still more news to come:
Mark, I am expecting my Jebo 828 to be here today. I bought it off Ebay for $49.99 plus $20 shipping. I heard about it on this forum (Editors note: cichlid-forum dot com) and researched a little and found that almost all buyers liked it. Its supposed to be comparable to the Eheim 2028 but 1/4 the cost. I'm putting it on a 125 g. with 2 AC 110's. We shall see how it works. If it sucks, I will get an XP3 or Eheim 2217. But for $70 it seemed like a try.
Last nite I met a lady that didnt want to take heard 75 g. to florida with her. Its 1 year old. It came with a AC 110 and a Penguin 160, a couple of powerheads and miscellaneous items for $50. Just like new!!! If the Jebo works out on the 125, I will get another for the 75 g. mbuna tank that I will be stocking next. I will post my feelings on this after I have run it for a few months.
