im going to buy some more aquaclear sponges for my filters because i like them better and would like to know how can i avoid a spike in amm and nIts from there not being enough bacteria. can i buy some biospira or cycle and put it in a bucket full of tank water with the sponges in there and leave them in the for a week and will bacteria grow on the sponges? or should i just switch one at a time?
the reason why i want to change to sponges is because the sponges have a greater flow rate than the blue pads, probably because i havent cleaned them but its noticiable. thanks for your input and suggestions.
