What to do with new egg's?

Postby buffettt on Sun Oct 22, 2000 6:21 pm

I have had my oscars for around two years now. I have three total in a 125 gallon tank with two other fish. Too my surprise I woke up this morning and found a pile of egg's! Ummmm do I need to do anything for these egg's? Should I seperate the egg's from the two parents? They are very aggresive now protecting the eggs. Just curious what i should do? Thanx for your help!!

Hi Buffett,

You can just leave the eggs with the parents or you can remove them to another tank. If you leave with parents you want to make sure they don't get spooked etc...Do a search on this BBS for "spook" or "eggs" for more info since there's been a lot posted on the subject. If you have plecos I would take them out since they may eat the eggs at night or leave enough light on all the time for the oscars to be able to see to defend the eggs.
