Getting them to tango...

Firemouths

Postby Drew on Fri Dec 17, 2004 11:38 am

Hi

My first post! So be nice! :D

I've got 2 firemouth Cichlids in my tank currently. Not too sure if they are male and female or not.

One pretty much constantly chases the other. The one whose chasing is slightly bigger, and more colourful, and not as grey. Where as the one being chased has a darker grey body colour and not so much of the bright colouring.

Both have developed fat bellies over the past month, is there any chance they could be getting ready to mate?

They also keep displaying to one another by puffing out their gills, and swimming round in circles together!

Any ideas would be great!!

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy! :D Welcome to the forum! We're all nice here (or think we are --). I don't know diddly about Firemouths, but wanted to leave a note to welcome you to the group. Now, let's see what the firemouth experts have to say-----

Hi Drew and welcome to chiclidfish!!

I like Mark know very little about firemouths. You might want to post in the chiclid section of the fourm as well. Might get more views, and a quicker responce.
