Depmseys have babies help!

Postby kscollinsx3 on Mon Oct 18, 2004 3:15 pm

Hey gang, Things have been going well on my end with my fish. So well in fact that my Dempsys in my 100 gal laid eggs, moved them to a hiding place and for 5 days now they fry have been out of hiding. "MOM" and "DAD" have been excellent parents (this is their first time too)
The problems is this....They are in with 2 oscars that are bigger than them and they have fought them bravely for two weeks(and what a sight that was!!!!) well of course the babies are dwindling and i was wondering if I should remove a few of the remaining fry in order to save them? If I do, what do I feed them????
Thanks! Sabina

If they're 2 weeks old the baby dempsey's will eat crumbled up flake food with no problems.

Good Luck

Depmseys have babies help!

Hi Still earnin,
Well I moved 13 of the babies and left the rest with the parents. I think there still are a few with them but not too many. The babies I have moved are doing well. I found some live bearer food I had in a stash and they seem to like it once it sinks!
I really appreciate your help and look forward to some fish I have raised from babies.
Thanks!!:yesmaster
I'll keep you posted on our progress
