first timer- help

hi mandy...firstly what fish have you got that have spawned?.... most of the time you should remove parents from eggs and keep a gentle flow of water over the eggs.removing parents ensures that they wont get eaten!
but i need to know what fish....the rules do vary and sometimes the parents will do the work.

keep me posted.:)

first timer- help

Personally I always leave them in since the fish figure out how to care for their fry after the first few batches. That just makes my life easier since the parents are doing most of the work.

good luck

ok cool.....glad u got oscars....now you are talking my kind of fish........well so far if you have already had eggs you must be doing all the right things..but next time remove parents or screen off eggs...and thats it!

p.s when eggs are seperated make sure theres a gentle fresh current of water flowing over the eggs..this is to make sure the water around the eggs is constantly oxygenated and not stale.

good luck and remember to keep us posted!;)
