gold fish in warm water

Postby Craig on Sun Jun 06, 2004 9:55 am

hey yall,

i mentioned a few weeks back about my friend with the poorly kept tanks. i have since helped him clean out every one of his tanks and sorted alot of the propblems.

i am now focussing on collecting all his fish into the correct accomidations.

he has 2 plecos (about 8 inches each) in one tank, they fight constantly and cause alot of damage to themselves and the ish around them.

he also has a cold water tank containing a black molly.

both tanks are 30 " (30 gals)

would the molly survive if the temp goes up, it is about 69 F now, and is just below the surrgested temp for plecs. if we add a heater to maintain the temp would the pleco and molly co-habitate??

on a side note

[I(im actualy quite proud of the tanks now, the gravel took a majour vacumm, the water was almost all changed and the light was fixed.)

i thought he hadnt been feeding the fish however it turns out he has, more then enough. just my loach wa dumb enough not to feed. (a habit in their genus apparently)

any of the damaged fish have started to re grow their missing fins and once the water change was done the mass of corys even started spawning.

just call me the fish mesia...)[/I]

cheers for any help

lol...wrong fish name

black moor... basically a black goldfish. its all osrted now mind, i did some research and although its not perfect itll be better for the other fish.

the moors metabolic rate will increase and itll eat more and need more oxgen, but these are minor issues in something thats worked quite well.... cheers jay
