Temperature Problem

Postby MIDAS521 on Mon May 10, 2004 3:04 pm

I have a 70 gallon tank with a pair of red tiger oscars. Since moving the oscars into their new tank I have been hoping that they will lay eggs again and this time be more succesful in raising them.

The problem I have is that I cannot seem to keep a constant temperature in the tank. I have 2 heaters running - one at each end of the tank. But the temperature keeps dropping and rising - thus the temperature is never constant and I am never going to get them to tango like that!

How can I get the temperature to stay constant?

Any help much appreciated

Thank you!

Put some insulation around the tank, ie maybe some blanket, foam padding etc....I've used blankets on the tanks during winter and 300Watt heaters.(tanks were outside on patio...)

cut down to one heater big enough to heat the tank - I've never had luck trying to make two heaters work together
