Hi Chris,

You can try a ping-pong ball, some rubber tubing(try colored), marbles, crystals, golf-ball, toy plastic fishes they can chew on Image I'm sure they'd like to play with your fingers Image

Hey Try A Fishing Lure(with hooks removed of course) Floating might be a bit better. Mine knocks the lure around for hours. A Colored lure might be better!!

Hi HDK,

Not a bad idea, I'd be a little worried though unless I had it still tied to a line. What happens if the 'pigs' gobble it up as food and they can't spit it back out? Image

Oh yea...that wouldn't be good. I used to have a Jig that I cut the hook off of and it was tied to fishing string. When I would put it in the tank with my tigers, they would turn into that "camo" mode. Stripes would get real light and they looked really cool but soon realized it was b/c they were scared. So I guess you can try it out but if it freaks them out, try to find something else. Plus having to pull a fishing lure out of your O's stomach would kinda be difficult to explain?!

You know I never thought of that! Everyone says Jack is big enough to put a line in the tank.....It would flip them out to see him playing with a lure!!! I like it... Image

My brats get a little mirror to play with sometimes. The JD is in possesion of it right now though so he isn't as lonely.A mirror seems like a good idea for a single fish Image

My JD has riot gear and 3 plecos on his side. I got him to eat finally. I had another toy idea. I have a pillow shaped like a bass.My oscars are smart enough to recognize the shape and they used to go and hide when I made it "swim". When they are doing their spawny thing they try to attack it. If I just leave it around they look at it. I think thay recognize the big fish shape because they watch it even if I'm across the room playing with it. My oscars also get excited( and no not because they think I'll feed them) if I sit with my face really close to the glass. These are more of entertainment for oscars ideas Image

HUMPH! It's not a big pillow! Not that I have to explain myself but "playing referrs" to making it "swim" to amuse the oscars! Image Image Image Image Image (much scowling at the computer screen)
