beef for fish?

The problem with normal beef is that its is way to fatty. The beef heart has almost no fat that why we use it.
Do you have any butcher shops around you? If so just call them up and tell them that you want beef heart and they will save it for you. It will only cost you like $1 per pound because they don't use them normally. This is what I did for a while and it worked great every once in a while I would give them a call and they would save them for me.

Good Luck

so beef heart is just literally the heart of a cow or bull..... i thought so but i wasnt sure - cause everyone's been writing it as one word, i.e: Beefheart. sounds like a product or something.

yes beefheart is just a cows heart.

As far as feeding it :
- some people just cut it in stripes
- or you can grind it,mix it with non-flavored gelatin (to bind it together) and mix in other things like - shrimp, peas, fish, fish food etc..
