Air

Postby LRD on Thu Mar 25, 2004 8:20 pm

I have a air pump for a 55 gallon tank and it is really loud. I was wondering if there is a air pump that is less noise for a good price? and where to get it at? Went to my LF and looked but the girl there had no comments.

Thanks

I would recommed just going to a store with good variety that will let you return it if too noisy. Noise is also dependent on where you place the pump, vibration, noise conduction or dampening etc..

I don't use airpumps anymore since I have the blower in my fishroom but tetra-tecs seem to be pretty quiet from the other setups I've seen.

Another thing that works if you have a good air pump you want to keep - go to a car stereo store (or bestbuy) and buy some dynamat ,it's made to absorb sound and vibrations in car body panels from loud music but it'll do the same think on airpumps to.
