I have a 55 gallon tank, it has been set up for about 2 months. I let it cycle for 3 weeks, and since then cleaning it everyweek ( gravel and replacing 20% to 30% of the water). IT has 1 pleco, 1 red devil 4 to 6 inches long, and 2 convicts. I have a Emperor filter. But for some reason i can not get my cloudness out. It has no odor. Nit 0, PH 7.8, Amm. 0, Water hardeness somewhat hard.
I need help I am getting tried of it being cloudy, it looks I do not take care of my fish. The only reason the red devil is in a 55 is because my 125 got a crack in it and have not replaced it yet.( broke right now) Any help I would like to hear.

Finer media filters, activated carbon, remove gravel in some cases. More powerful filtration sometime needed. I think mainly finer media to catch smaller particles.

I am going to get a new filter system Wed. Would do you prefer I go with?

magnum 350 plus something else, I've used that combo pretty well, magnum also comes with a finer filter media you can swap in there. I would say have one filter for the big stuff and one with a fine filter media. The one with the coarser media should be the more powerful one. Some aquaclear500 maybe etc...

Got the magnum, and two days later it was crystal clear water. Looks great. Thanks for all the help cichlidfish.
