YES! I do when i have to log in and check messages, as to posting on a thread to log on. It is also handy to see what active threads are going and whats what. You also have to go their to log off. So unless you can come up with something better.....

No, I do read the scroll news if its not stuck like it is now. I didn't know you could click on it. I also use the control bar on top, not the one at the side to go to the forums. Saw that the other day but figured you guys were experimenting on changing things. Most of the stuff on the side bar are at the bottom of the main forum page As in B-days and who is on line. Active threads is on home page. i browse that every now and then to see whats going on. But mostly just browse the forums on dates that have been posted on. Their is a poll that you have that has been the same for many months, but i see you have it updated. GREAT!
Fix it up the way you think would benifit us all. Just let us know so we don't get lost and think we are on anoter site!!

nope,won't work with aol it either times out or claims it's not responding 99% of the time for me.So like you said I use the

With AOL, you can still use the MS Internet Explorer browser INSTEAD of the Web Browser inside of AOL. I think ifyou use the regular browser on your desktop it should work. Sometimes people have still had problems if they had firewalls installed.

me and the cable company don't see eye to eye over a fried modem and an outrageous bill although they're starting to cave in

Hey cichldfish, what you ment to put up was HOW we come on through the search engine? Not the portal? I mean when i come on I go through the search engine which puts me on the MAIN PAGE and then i go to forums. if I want to log on but not post I go to the HOME page. Right? Some one surfing on the web will go to the search engine click on that and it takes you to the MAIN PAGE, then you chose where to go from their. Thats how I found this site as FatherandSon did. the tread you posted takes you to the HOME page. thats what i have been posting about. Right?

Actually, what I'm asking is about the 'regulars' here on how they come back to post on the forums. I myself just type in http://www.cichlidfish.com/portal/forums/ in the URL space in the browser or from bookmark. But I wanted to know how many people first go to http://www.cichlidfish.com and then click on "Portal" or go to the portal "directly" at http://www.cichlidfish.com/portal/

There's new versions of portals I can install, just wanted to see if people actually think a portal is good/useful or not really.(since it was actually a bit of work to set up correctly...) That way I know if I should continue to think of more things to add into a portal or not...

OK, I use my search that stores sites on the web. I have on Cichlids.com which takes me to the web search engine. I click on this site and it takes me to the main Page w/the motion fish and then I click on forums. And you know the rest. And you need to fix the words on the search engine. the last 3 words say: sex Oscars, sexing. Sex Oscars? Thats a lot of sexing.....

Hmmmm, so what "keyword" did YOU type in to get to the "Oscar Sex, sex oscars" page? or was it your hubby who found the page?

But ok, yea I can take out a little bit of the "sex" from the page if it bothers people. I'm still not sure though I understand what "search page" or what motion cichlidfish page you're talking about. If you could post the URL ie [url]http://[/url] of the pages you go through would help? you said you first go to a search page? which one?

Ok, If you have Yahoo! on your main page their is a seach catagory that u can use that takes you to the web on what ever subject you type in. type in cichlidfish.com hit search and it brings up a Top 20 web results. its the heading you have to discribe what cichlidfish.com is all about. OK?

Ahh, that figures! guess was a good move to have all that "sex" in the description after all

Why don't you just Bookmark it(favorites) or go to File, and "send shortcut to desktop", then you can always just go "directly" to http://www.cichlidfish.com

or directly to the portal, http://www.cichlidfish.com/portal/
without all the searching etc....should save you a few clicks!
