i have 2 convict cichlid pairs of my own and i found that while breeding the best thing to do is have some gold fish/feeder fish swim arround so they dont attack eachother or the fry wat probly happened to the fry was that you took there parents away so they wernt taught how to survive(im a breeder myself) ive had 10 successful batchs so far with sumwhere around 1200 surviving fish wich i gave to my local pet stores at about 3/4 of an inch long (i got 25 cent per fish) it adds up after a while ecspecially when u have excessive breeding cichlids

They finally breed and i have about 30 fry which is coming along very well. They are about 2 weeks old now and the parents protect them vuciosly.I previously thought they ate them but after close inspection found that the parents would take them into the mouth when they go to far away from the nest and spit them out at the nest again absolutely wonderfull.Believe it or not Thanx every one!!!
