still pretty new tank so all my corals are just frags and I am waiting for them to grow out. You can't tell but I have about 30-35 corals in there and 8 fish. Also if you notice that tank above is the refugium that is draining down into the main tank. Also the main tank drains down to a 10g tank below it.
Just so you can tell sizes that clam in the middles is about 10" high and about 12" deep.
If anyone is looking at making a saltwater tank I highly suggest it is well worth the effort.

thanks

Nice start.

I like the filtration.

Clams cool to,if I did a reef I'd definately add one of those.

IF only I had just started that tank has been up for 6 months, Reefs take so long to build up, you have to do everything so dang slow.

It's amazing how different filtration is in a saltwater compared to a freshwater. I have no filters nothing on it, its almost all biological filtration.

Yeah I meant "Nice start" as far as a reef - most of the people I've ever talked to with nice reed setups said it took them a few years.

If only I could find the patience I'd try it someday but don't see it happening anytime soon.

whats in the bottom 10 gallon? I was figureing you used that as a wet/drt sump

what happened to your other tank? weren't you starting like a 125 for a reef before?

Ya all that stuff was in my 100g but I just didn't have the cash to make it look the way I wanted it too. So I sold it and move the live stock into that tank.

Yes there is a 10g sump but its not a wet/dry. the only thing that filters any of the water is the protein skimmer. Other than that I have nothing that filters the water except the live rock to do the nitrogen process and the macro algea in the upper tank to export the phosphates and the clams in the main tank eat up the nitrates. So all waste is reprossed or exported. I makes it easier to keep the hard to keep corals because my nitrates are never above 1ppm(give or take 1 ppm).

I have found that after setting up the tank, I spend much less time working on it. all algea is cleaned by the snails and I have a Calcium Reactor, so I don't have to dose anything and the process above takes care of all that.
So I just do 25% water changes about every couple months or when I get around to it.
