Why Breed Cichlids?

Postby MidasKnight on Fri Mar 05, 2004 2:44 pm

I've seen a lot of discussion about breeding cichlids but I've never heard the purpose of it.

Unless you own your own LFS, why would you breed them? Seems like you couldn't possibly keep a whole set of grown up fry. Do you just use the fry as feeders for other fish? Do you selling them to the LFS? I always thought LFS's got their fish from big suppliers.

LFS's get their fish from breeders and larger wholesalers.

My Fish go to:
Local wholesale suppliers (not for much longer)
Local fish stores
Other local hobbyists
Local club auctions
some internet and/or mail sales
If I could breed more I could sell more ;)
